ROCKY & KIM COOPER

Rocky and Kim met on a blind date in July of 1995 that was set up by mutual friends. Rocky went to the evening service at the Jennings Church of Christ in Jennings, Louisiana (Kim’s home congregation) which just happened to be the fifth Sunday singing. They began dating the very next week and were married in May 1996.

Rocky graduated from Harding in 1983. He retired as a social worker with the State of Louisiana in 2007. He currently works at Harding in management at the Heritage Inn. Kim graduated from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana and teaches at Harding in the College of Nursing.

Lesser-Known Facts

Rocky and Kim love to sing. While in high school, Rocky, along with a close friend, sang on a local radio program and even sang on TV a couple of times. For a few months back in the late 1980s Rocky sang in a country music band made up of friends from the Hidden Valley Church of Christ in Houston, Texas. Kim sang with a Christian music group called Merci’ for several years. They sang at several congregations in southwest Louisiana.
