SHAWN & JENNIFER FISHER

Shawn spent many years as the education minister at Cloverdale. He has a background in military and law enforcement, and taught history and english for seven years in Arkansas public schools. He is an associate professor of History at Harding University. He teaches courses in military history and Arkansas history. Jennifer is professor of speech-pathology at Harding and works in Cloverdale’s Elementary Sunday School program, Graceland.

Shawn grew up in Searcy. Jennifer grew up in Cabot. They met while students at Harding University and have been married since 1997.  

They have two daughters. Rachel is in her senior at Searcy high School. Elizabeth and her husband Trey were recently married at Cloverdale.

Shawn enjoys time with family as well as reading, writing, and blacksmithing. Jennifer enjoys reading and gardening.

Lesser-Known Fact

Shawn once rode a bull in a rodeo. He has also jousted with emus, and was almost killed by a frog. Shawn and Jennifer both went skydiving on the same day. Jennifer won a blue ribbon for her canning abilities.

Mission Work

Shawn and Jennifer have been involved in missions work with the Navajo in Tuba City, Arizona and in Geneva, Switzerland. Jennifer has served on missions in Haiti, and recently returned from six weeks in Zambia.
