refuge1Come, and find Refuge

We have teens from the different schools in town as well as homeschoolers, yet we enjoy being together no matter where we go. We take summer and spring break trips, have a weekly Bible study, have guy or girl events, and do an assortment of area-wide events and activities with other youth groups in Searcy.

If you are looking for a church to call home, then I encourage you to check us out. May you find the refuge you are looking for. If you would like to know more, contact the church office.

refuge2Our Vision

"To be a Refuge for those who have none."

Our core values that help us define Refuge are:

- To be a place where people can "dwell."

- To be a place people can find "shelter" and "refuge" from their hurts and struggles.

- To be a place where people can find a "fortress" of protection where we look out for each other, defend each other, and hold each other accountable.

Our goals that affirm our core values are:

- To be loving- we seek to be people who are obedient to God, follow Jesus, are led by his Spirit and commit to being part of His church by obeying the command to love God and our neighbors.

- To be humble- we seek to be less than others by having a spirit of humility. We don't feel we are better than anyone else.

- To be servant-leaders- we serve in a way that doesn't build up ourselves, but strengthens others, using the gifts God has given us.

- To be unified- we recognize we come from different places and have different stories but will strive to be united in the blood of Christ despite these differences.

youth classFor our Sunday morning classes, we have a Two Year Curriculum Plan. We believe this plan will give our teens a good foundation as they launch into adulthood. Odd years will start on "Year 1" in the Summer, and even years will start on "Year 2" in the summer.

On Sunday mornings, we divide our youth group like this:

  • 7th-8th grade
  • 9th-10th grade
  • 11th-12th grade

On Wednesdays, we don't have a set curriculum. We use these evenings for devo, praise / worship, prayer and fellowship. On Wednesday, we always start off with great singing and prayer. For our devotional time we use thoughtful and contemplative messages that will engage our teens where they are and with what they need to draw them closer to God, helping them get through each day. Our prayer time is done in a variety ways as we will use different ways to pray, such as art, journaling, or splitting in to smaller prayer groups. Wednesday nights are always a great boost in the middle of the week
