Steve and Brenda met as students at Harding University. When he asked her out on their first date, Steve was so smooth that Brenda did not even realize that she had agreed to a date until over two hours later. They have been married since 1992 and have two sons: David and Jacob.

The Breezeels both work at Harding University. Steve works in the department of History and Political Science as a Political Science professor. Brenda is the systems librarian for the Brackett Library.

They enjoy traveling, camping, and boating. As a family they have visited 49 states and 29 Major League Baseball stadiums. Steve also enjoys reading, sports, and sharing dad jokes. Brenda enjoys baking and playing games.
