Eugene and Sue have the shortest span of marriage of all the elder couples, having married in November 2018. Before the deaths of their previous spouses, both had been married more than 50 years.

Sue lived in Italy for 13 years, in Rome and Florence. Eugene preached briefly in Unity, Maine, and while teaching English at Harding University, made summer trips for Bible teaching in Hungary. Sue and Eugene taught WEI classes in Cluj, Romania in 2019.
